This mixed media project follows a group of people born in 1986 in Iran—the same year I was born, during the final years of the Iran-Iraq war. We were three when the war ended, and we’ve grown up shaped by the unique political and cultural landscape of our country.

Using a scanner, I captured portraits alongside personal objects and stamps printed in 1986—each detail hinting at identity, profession, and shared experience. Over the past 10 years, I’ve stayed connected with each person, collecting video interviews as we approached the age of 40.

The installation includes a soundscape made of presidential speeches, iconic Iranian songs, and major news events from the last 30 years. This project blends photography, audio, and memory to reflect on a generation shaped by time, place, and history
